Childhood sweethearts Jennie & David had their hearts set on exchanging vows near Strangford Lough, where they both grew up. Their wedding was held at the award-winning Orange Tree House on the shores of the lough and was an epic day filled with Narnia-like woodland charm, visionary DIY and little touches from family and friends.
This beautiful, private venue near the Mourne Mountains gave Jennie and David free rein to personalise their day and spoil their guests. Since proposing with a ring hidden inside a Kinder Egg, both knew their wedding would be far from ordinary/conventional!
Where possible, the couple called in favours and ignited the imagination of their creative circle of friends, including homemade confetti; spectacular flowers created by an old work friend; the bride’s mum’s work colleagues becoming musicians for the day, and vintage transport loaned out for the occasion from family members too.
On the day of the ceremony, an army of their friends and family descended to help finesse every glorious little detail for the venue’s woodland vibe. The couple even created their own wedding rings, with Jennie’s a remodelled family heirloom and David helping forge his own silver ring from scratch in a friend’s workshop.
