Married just yards from their family home in Dooey, Co. Donegal, Danielle and James’ outdoors wedding was perhaps the most windswept I’ve covered in a while!
Both scientists, Danielle and James made sure their day conveyed a sense of their own creative integrity and originality, whilst not forgetting the old Irish customs. Friends made the bride’s bouquet and contributed to the traditional hand-tying ceremony, and guests sat on bales of straw in a nod to Irish weddings of old.
Despite the odd gale, we stood by the cliffs for family photos as everyone’s hair and gowns blew wildly and made for great photographs! Theirs was a day filled with intimate, personal touches; a wild flower décor by the groom, mismatched bridesmaids’ dresses, a cake made from cheese and tables named after Irish birds. A superb occasion.
